Bilberry
Bilberry is a dark blue, edible fruit, similar to the common blueberry. It has long been widely used in Europe for eye health for hundreds of years. Research on bilberry began based upon the discovery in World War II that British bomber pilots noticed and reported their night vision was improved when they ate bilberry jam prior to night flights.
Bilberry is naturally rich in anthocyanosides— a special class of flavonoid that gives the berries their blue pigment. Anthocyanosides are powerful antioxidants with an affinity for connective tissue. Bilberry supports the capillary integrity of the retina.
Bilberry can speed the regeneration of rhodopsin, a substance in the rods of the retina that is necessary for night vision. It helps the eyes adapt to variations in light intensity and may increase circulation to the eye’s intricate network of tiny blood vessels.
Bilberry is also popular for persons susceptible to strain on the eyes from long time reading or working behind a computer.
Aussia Bilberry 2000 is manufactured with powerful bilberry extract. It has been approved by TGA and manufactured under GMP standards.
